web design resources
We’re not going to suggest for a moment that we’re the only people who can help you have a great website - there are plenty of people who can. You may want to give it a go yourself!
We want you to have the best site possible and in the spirit of this, here are a few resources you might like to check out:
Templates
A convenient way to ‘design’ your own website is to use a template. A template is like a framework for a website that is already built. You can customise this with your own content – text, images and links – and have a professional looking site in a relatively short amount of time. Have a look at a site we think is pretty good for these - Open Source and Free Web Designs - http://www.oswd.org/
Content Management Systems
Utilise a powerful, free tool designed to let you manage your own website content.
Our hosting packages offer the pretty fabulous Fantastico suite of software – free of charge. Included in this suite are a number of programs that are actually powerful tools for managing your own website content easily. These tools can be installed with one click in your own control panel (which you gain access to when you sign up for a hosting package).
After installation, you can customise the look of the site so it looks how you please, and changing the content (text, images, forums, news items… ) is easy when you know how!
